I just had to share this article. Don’t ask me why, because I have no idea. All I do know is that I’m sitting in my office (thank goodness I work from home) with tears rolling down my cheeks. It’s a good reminder to hug your kids, be thankful for what you have, and try to do something good for someone whenever you can.

Dammit. I wasn’t prepared for that.
Shared with the wife. She’s seen kids like this born.

Some friends of ours has a son who has a disease that does not allow him to move his body, and his body is giving out more and more each day. They have been told that he won’t live much longer. He’s already had so many surgeries and been hospitalized over and again. I already know what these people are going through without having to read the article.

We have two special needs sons, one of whom is 15 and completely non-verbal. Stories like this are a reminder that whenever we want to have a woe-is-me party, we should be thankful for all the goods things we do have.
So my wife just took a bunch of food up to the school for all the teachers and aides that work with our boys!

I’m very sorry. We have three boys, two of whom are special needs and one of whom went directly into the NICU when born. When we was released, we had him home for less than 12 hours, then back to the hospital for a week. I’ve got to say that was the scariest time in my life, so I can’t even contemplate what you, the Youngs, and others in your position have gone through.

I don’t think I knew this, but I already knew you were good people, and now I know you’re good parents. Your wife just confirmed that.
We live to give our kids the brightest future they can make for themselves, so I’ll pray for your boys just like I pray for my daughter.

Thank you. There is nothing more horrifying and life changing than finding your infant girl unresponsive in her crib. Her twin brother is still alive and doing well, almost 9 years old. Dealing with any kind of illness or death of an infant is...man, I just don’t even have the words.
